website

I want you to know:
The home page of the site provides the user with a brief description of the purpose and aims of iwantyoutoknow.com. Giving insight into what can be done on the site as well as directing users to services that can provide immediate help and support if required. Present on the home page and throughout the site is a search bar, allowing users a quick and easy option for finding information on the site
Live Compliments:
The live compliments/comment section of the site consists of animated clouds that slowly meander across the screen slowly fading out as they reach the screen edge, allowing other clouds to drift in. Contained in these clouds are user generated quotes or feelings. These can be anything (responses are monitored) that the users are feeling, a story, an experience (positive or negative), worries, or just a need to share. Once a cloud is clicked on the user is taken to the quote or caption in full, this also gives an option of similarly tagged responses, the ability to create their own cloud and forum threads that may apply to the issue, feeling, thought or advice at hand.
The aim of the live compliments section is to connect like-minded individuals to show them that they are not alone and to let them talk to people who may be feeling the same way they do or are experiencing (or have experienced) a similar situation.
Sometimes the best help can come from a relative stranger that has been through the same thing. This is about sharing techniques for copping or just talking about personal experience.
You’re not alone:
The you’re not alone page is designed to exactly that: Let people know that they are not alone. Here, users are able to subscribe to weekly emails informing them of popular threads or threads/comments that relate to tags they have selected themselves for example; sadness, isolation, happy etc. Users are also able to subscribe to sms and email compliments this operates on our theory that a little bit of kindness, a bright spot, can change someone’s day.
It also a chance for users to be informed about what types of help are out there. It is a way of cutting through the potentially confusing and daunting task of finding help, and putting people in touch with someone or somewhere that is relevant to the issues they are going through.
We want you:
We want you is another opportunity for our users to share, to create their own cloud. Or to share the world of iwantyoutoknow.com with somebody close to them. We give users the ability to create their own postcard in the same look and feel of our original print campaign, this means users can taylor a compliment/message for a friend, family member or co-worker that will speak directly to them. They can provide a message of support or simply a positive message to brighten up someone’s day. They can be for someone that they feel is a little down, or just to say something positive, the simple things that don’t get said often enough!
The postcards can be sent via post or as an EDM (electronic direct mail), this form of user generated content also means that iwantyoutoknow.com can continue to change and evolve as our users do.
